Should I buy a car older or newer?

im thinkin bout buyin a 65 studabaker, in very good condition and it had done more work. im 17 and insurance would be very low which is a definite plus. but I also want a newer car bc the older one has only an AM radio and I need music or ill die. I can always play a CD housed in the old tho. ADVICE?

The question you should ask yourself is "How soon will I die?" All those cars from the '60s were very primitive in the way they drive, handle, accelerate, brake and steer. Plus, without all the safety features, the death rate per miles driven in the 60s was terrible. The Lowliest little Kia is a better car in almost every respect. My suggestion is this. Save your money, pay cash for a $ 2-3000 car … something like a 5-6 years old Ford Escort or similar import if you prefer. Then start banking money for college expenses. After college when you make a decent money you will have the resources to 'play' with a number of classic cars. That is what they are good for … play. You dont want to drive every day.
