I am in Australia on a Working Holiday visa. I bought a car and wants to insure. I understand that I get liability insurance with the Rego, but wants to get some comprehensive insurance as well. I was told by some people I can do not because I'm not an Australian resident.

yes you can get comp insurance for ur car, even when you're on holiday visa …. the assurance you get with Rego comp is third ((((CtP)) which only covers injuries … it does not cover liability for other cars ….. so you have two options … take third party liability insurance that will work with other cars and property if you default and the premium is very little other option is to take comp car with ur car insured for all damage to the car as ur other cars, properties, and even if its stolen
