What is business insurance cost based on sales or payroll?

I have 2 quotes for business insurance. One is based on the payroll and one based on sales. Comparatively, our payroll will increase more than will our total turnover. Payroll quote is from an authorized carrier, while sales via a quote is not allowed, but a rated carrier. How can I determine which will be cheaper at the end of the year?

You have to look at the actual rate. Each agent worth their salt should be willing to stay with you. Then you extrapolate – what if you hire two guys? What if your sales to double? You have to rate yourself, to worst project a best (? LOL how is it worse if your sales triple?) Case scenario. I would also double check coverages, line by line – especially the "bells and whistles". Probably, you will be more bells and whistles to the authorized carrier. Make sure your carrier is allowed an assessment, too.
